Dashboard tour

What every part of the admin workspace is for, and how to rearrange the board.

Updated

The admin workspace is three things: a sidebar that never changes, a top bar that follows you everywhere, and a dashboard you are meant to rearrange. This page names each part so the rest of the guide can point at them without re-describing them.

The sidebar is grouped rather than flat, and the groups are stable — the same five appear in every workspace, in the same order, with Settings pinned at the bottom above your own name. Items that hold several screens expand in place; collapse the whole sidebar with the chevron next to your workspace name and those become hover flyouts instead.

The top bar

Four controls, left to right on a desktop screen:

  • Search or jump to anything — opens the command palette. ⌘K gets there from any screen without reaching for the mouse. It searches records and jumps to pages, so it is usually faster than the sidebar.
  • Customize — the launcher for everything configured once and applied to the whole workspace: operations rules, live tracking, compliance, exception detection, custom fields, entity types, terminology and notification rules.
  • The bell — in-app notifications, driven by the rules set under Customize.
  • Your avatar — the menu with your profile, security and preferences, and sign-out.

On a narrow screen the search box drops away and the burger menu takes its place; the other three stay.

The dashboard itself

The header greets you by first name, names your workspace and carries a live clock that ticks over every half minute — it is there so you can tell at a glance whether what you are looking at is current. Below it is a grid of widgets, each one a self-contained view of one part of the operation.

Operational

  • Operations Overview — the live KPI band: active trips, on-time rate, completions, exceptions, drivers online, dispatch backlog.
  • KPI Overview — compact headline counters for the fleet at a glance.
  • On-Time Performance — on-time rate and average delay over a 7- or 30-day window.
  • Exceptions — open trip exceptions by severity, with anything critical called out.
  • Dispatch Backlog — open and overdue delivery pools, and destinations still awaiting dispatch.
  • Live Fleet — a compact real-time map that deep-links to the full live view.
  • Daily Brief — an AI-written summary of the current operational state.
  • Active Shifts — who is clocked in right now, with running durations.

Fleet, compliance and maintenance

  • Fleet Overview — vehicle counts by status and driver assignment.
  • Driver Overview — availability across active, on-break, on-leave and offline.
  • Vehicle Utilization — how hard each vehicle is being worked.
  • Growth Metrics — drivers onboarded over the last 7 and 30 days.
  • Compliance Alerts — expiring insurance, overdue inspections, licence problems.
  • Maintenance and Upcoming Maintenance — open work orders, and what falls due next.

Rearranging the board

The default arrangement is a starting point, not a recommendation. Reshaping it costs about a minute.

  1. 1

    Enter edit mode

    Overview → Dashboard → Customize

The grid becomes editable and a toolbar appears along the bottom of the screen with the count of visible widgets.

  2. 2

Start from a preset, or do not

Preset → Dispatcher, Fleet Manager or Maintenance

Each preset shows an ordered set of widgets suited to one job and hides the rest. It is a starting arrangement you then edit, not a lock.

  3. 3

    Reorder, resize and hide

Drag widgets into the order you read them in, resize the ones that deserve the room, and hide what you never look at. Not every widget accepts every size — the KPI band, for instance, is full width or nothing.

  4. 4

    Add anything that is missing

    Add widget

The catalogue lists every widget with a one-line description, grouped by category, including the ones the presets left out.

  5. 5

    Save, or back out

    Save layout

Cancel discards the session and restores what you had. Reset goes further and returns you to the default arrangement.

The assistant

Two ways in, one assistant. Assistant under Overview is the full-page workspace with conversation history; the floating button at the bottom-right of every admin screen is the same assistant in a panel, for when you do not want to leave the page you are on.

Terminology

Your organisation can rename these. If your screens say something else, this is what they mean here.

Driver
The person carrying out a trip. Widget titles such as Driver Overview follow whatever you rename this to.Rename it in Customize → Terminology
Vehicle
A fleet vehicle. Vehicle Utilization and the sidebar entry both follow the renamed term.Rename it in Customize → Terminology
Shift
A driver’s working period. The Active Shifts widget is titled from this term.Rename it in Customize → Terminology
